Hantaran Trays Design

I'm in the mood for hantaran trays lately because I need to complete a set of it as my wedding present for my brother. The happy couple will be married end of this month. Last night I managed to complete all 5 trays (with my husband as my little helper hehe). This is actually my 3rd time of doing hantaran trays - 1st was for my E-Day, 2nd was for my brother's E-Day. I'm getting better at it, I think. These are completed in an hour only haha. If there are any brides out there looking for gubahan hantaran trays service, I'm willing to do it at a very reasonable price! Just contact me :)

All the raw materials for the hantaran trays are bought at Nilai 3 last weekend, total cost around RM170 (exclude silver trays cost). I do not use fresh flowers here as I don't want to risk the rush on the night of the big day itself. As kakak pengantin, I think there will be lots of other things that I need to assist at the last minute. Well, just in case.

Having said that, that's why I did not do my fresh flowers wedding hantaran trays myself. Ikutkan hati mau, but then takkan bride herself nak bersengkang mata siapkan hantaran sendiri di malam hari hihi. So for my wedding last June, I ordered my fresh flowers hantaran trays from Merisik Gallery, both for me and the groom. It costs me RM70 per tray, 5+7 = 12 trays x RM70 = RM840. Haishhh, harga tu mmg rasa nak buat sendiri kannn! But thankfully, Merisik Gallery delivered beautiful trays design as I expected them to be, so no headache there, recommended. Complaints I have on them are that the hand bouquet that I ordered, huhh the "fresh" flowers already lebammm, burokk, ended up x pakai langsung, membazir RM100! And their service was not friendly like other vendors - known problem before I approach them anyway (my husband and a friend who used their service felt the same way too). Thank god my MUA team made one hand bouquet for me, very fresh and pretty, so I used that one instead.

Honest and true, Bride #2.

Bride #1: The Union

During the last few hours, a lot had to be done. I got 'Team Hantaran" which consists of my sister and 2 cousins and "Team Attend-to-the-Bride's-Needs" of my 3 best friends.  A day before, we checked in at Somerset for what to be my final single night with them. Booked 2 rooms at a special rate I got through one of the #Wengurls who happens to stay there for her attachment in KL's office.When I left the house that afternoon, mom and I started crying, realizing the next time I step foot on that house, I'd be a wife. It was quite an emotional moment, though it was only the time to go to the hotel not to get married per se.

That evening, while Kak Norish was doing my henna, "Team Hantaran" rolled up their sleeves, drowned themselves in the pool of fresh flowers, restrained their desire from finishing my cupcakes (or so I was told), trying to finish the arrangements, a total of 9 trays. They were:

 It was the time I felt totally pampered, there was someone to help me answer the phone, someone to shove food down my throat, someone to be my messenger, just someone to be the other 'me' at final preparations. Awesome work "Team Attend-to-the-Bride's-Needs"!!! Couldn't deny I enjoyed that brief moment.

Come the auspicious day, the day I was about to be taken as someone's lawfully wedded wife, the day it was right to say "It's show time!"

Woke up at 6am, showered and put on Garnier Lightening Peel Off Mask (as suggested by Renee ;) ) while waiting for Khir, the Acestudio and Avicenna team to arrive. My 3 girls were still sleeping at that time, poor thing had to stay up 'till 5am to finish my hand bouquets arrangement. I'm just so lucky! *sobs*

I was ready by 915am and then it was time to head to the Duchess Place to meet my man the rest of the families before the akad nikah. The moment I saw my parents, my mom was already sobbing and I started to tear a bit. It's just a family 'thing' you see, the girls are all a weeper. Then I saw my bridesmaids, all 9 of them looking sweet in their peach dresses. Apparently two of them had a 'dress malfunction' but it was all sorted out just in time for the event. Thanks girlss! ;)

A and family arrived close to 10am, together with his entourage clad in pastel green baju melayu. Then it was time for me and my girls to march in. I was expecting a lengthy speech from the tok kadi but before I could really settle myself down, Ayah and A had already exchanged the 'ijab dan qabul' dan dengan 1 lafaz, D sah menjadi isteri kepada A =) or as I'd like to call it, #awediha is finally united

So, there you have it girls. I kept my identity a secret partly because of this wedding was quite a closed event for my family and I. Not many people knew that I was getting married, well not many knew I even had a boyfriend. That was just how I keep some things to myself. Anyway, A and I are both ready to embrace what the future may hold for us. Pray for us ya!

My deepest thanks to my family, for putting up with my indecisiveness, for tolerating my sudden outrages and for accepting my crazy ideas.

My 3 best girlfriends, indeed a 'Fanstastic Four' we are. Words wouldn't be enough to show how grateful I am to have you three around, it felt like a big weight was lifted off my shoulder. Really, thanks a lot!

Junajunies, my twinkies, my kitty purry (ok don't mind the names, it's just how I categorize my friends) hurmm where do I begin? We all know we have shared so so much! Part of this happened because all of you. Thanks sayangssss!

Phewww, Bride #1

Bride #1: flower power

Guess you would probably know where I got my stocks of fresh flowers. It's none other than Floristika located in Bangsar. Since we were buying in a large quantity, my sister and I paid a visit 2 weeks earlier to make a booking. True, it was like a huge icebox that we were literally shivering in there. Make sure to plan ahead on types of flowers you are going to use. We had troubles choosing and ended up ordering more than what needed. Overspent part uno.

Another place which we frequent to is in Petaling Street, Weng Hoa Flower Boutique. Here was where we got all different types of flower foam holders. Can't really say if the price was reasonable since we didn't really bother to compare them with other flower suppliers. Parking is quite a problem so if you plan to go here, make sure someone else is driving. Ehemm thanks BIL! ;)

We decided to do something about our money issues to cover all the things yg terlebih sudeh - a major cost cutting on all of our hantaran items! Change brands, downgrade items from big to small etc. The two words "cost cutting” are upsetting but it's better than to build up credit card debt. Let's not drive ourselves into deep debt trap huhu.

We bought our last 3 hantaran items at Suria KLCC. Immediately after finished shopping, we celebrated our small victory (of spending less than budgeted! Yeayers) with Japanese lunch and Patchi chocs. Delicious!

Wedding Nightmares

...Turn into 'dreams come true' ! :(

On Sunday evening, while watching TV, I received a call from my nikah dress designer, Amir Luqman. He told me about a lil' problem - there are stains on the dress neck area after dry cleaning. Herrrkkkkk!

He said he will cover the stains with patched lace around the neck area. In a way, I got free extra laces than original design. Oh ok, so I'm ok with it. And he said he'll deliver the dress to my fiance's house (supposedly yesterday!). However yesterday, senyap seribu bahasa, hoihh after calling several times, no answer, and it eventually switched off.

So before I went to sleep last night, I wrote a polite email as an unhappy customer, walaupun dlm hati dah panas. Woke up this morning with a reply from Azreen, Amir's assistant, Alhamdulillah. Just now at 3pm encik tunang helped to pick-up the dress at Amir's boutique. Thank God, issue resolved. Thank you for the prompt corrective action to Amir's team and encik tunang :)

Then another thing happened, the Kate Spade item that I purchased online arrived today and it is in WRONG colour! Kaler yg hideously dull pulak tu..Damnnnnn! I hate it so much :( I just want my money back!

So many real wedding nightmares lately! Dugaan nak kawen timbul, some controllable and some not controllable - the wedding cakes order got cancelled, the guy friend who decided to come out from friendzone (err..), the ex-es suddenly making contact again (duhhh!), the money issue - income tax yg x best!, overbudget items, my newly completed house, latest are hantaran items yg blom setel2 + problematic, job transfer mcm janji kosong by the company directors huhh

Finally... My Wedding Shoes!

I bought this 5.5 inches Capecoral Platform Pumps as my wedding shoes, weeee :) Got it from ALDO Mid Valley Gardens store yesterday. However, these show a tiny bit of toe cleavage, but not bad, and also it reminds me so much about Christian Louboutin Daffodile's as shown in my previous post. On a whim I just grabbed it along with these 2 items:

Maybe I'll make the ALDO shoes as one of my hantaran items, put it together with my Kate Spade item, let them share a tray. Maknanya haruslah carik satu lagi kasut for nikah kan huhu, $$$ hmmph..we'll see how lah... Bride #2

Bride #1: for the sweet tooth

Looking at my to-do list, this month, there's a lot of finalization works that need to be done which includes the wedding cake design. I know I don't need to look further as I have always admired these two people who did an amazing job in cake decorating. They are Pearl Cakes Events and my very own good friend, Ayesha. 

Unfortunately, I wont be able to personally hire them to do my wedding cake as this is also included in the package by Duchess Place. Thus, these are for the feast of the eyes:

I've had it on my wish list for so long now! So one of my hantaran trays will be Fujifilm Instax Camera + Leather Case + Films. I seriously couldn't resist the cuteness of these, I'll carry it around during my honeymoon later (sudah berangan hehe)
